Sales Director (Northern
England) – Salary around £80k + 20% Bonus Potential
+ Benefits
Our client is a
major FMCG distributor, servicing around 5,000 wholesalers and retailers,
together with 15,000 sites for major brands such as Somerfield, Sainsbury’s,
Asda, Makro and the Post Office.
With sales of
circa £45m and a sales force of over 60, the business has recently been acquired
by a private equity investor. They now have the opportunity to capitalise on
their huge potential and have exciting plans for 2008 and beyond.
They require a
Sales Director; a candidate of the highest calibre is required to fulfil and
exceed our client’s expectations with this exciting and challenging opportunity.
The successful
individual will:

Develop and implement the sales strategy to ensure the
organisation achieves its business objectives and financial targets.

Be charged with driving business performance and
profitability through the continual development and direction of sales.

Lead, motivate and develop the sales team, ensuring
that each individual is equipped and motivated to perform their role.

Build strong, long-term client relationships with new
and existing customers; to develop a strong pipeline of revenue generating
opportunities, including new business and account management.
The successful
candidate will:

Have a comprehensive understanding of the UK FMCG
market; particularly the multiples sector.

Be an entrepreneurial, inspiring and professional team
player who will direct and motivate their team to deliver exceptional
results.

Possess strong commercial skills and have a thorough
strategic approach.

Be a principle participant at board level and have the
ability to work closely with other functions to generate a plan for their
area of the business.

Demonstrate strong leadership skills and be an
inspirational figurehead in the business. Strong communications
interpersonal skills are essential.
A generous
package is offered in return for the very best candidate, including a
substantial bonus and clear succession plan for future success. Earnings
potential i.e. basic salary and bonus, is expected to be around £100k.
